Starting from the menu below, imagine a short dialogue between a customer and a waiter in a restaurant.
WRITING

LISTENING
Listen to the cooking instructions and number the pictures in the correct order.
Listen to William and his mother. Tick (✓) the things they have got and cross (✗) the things they haven’t got.
⬤ Talking about food
We use “of” to talk about the food in containers.
Examples:
a bar of chocolate
a kilo of sugar
a bag of potatoes
a bottle of water
a carton of milk
a box of eggs
a jar of jam
a pack of butter
a packet of biscuits
a tin of peas
NOTE: Don’t forget to put ”s” if the amount is in the plural form!
Examples:
a kilo of flour
2 kilos of flour
a bottle of milk
3 bottles of milk
We use the verbs “have” or “eat” to talk about food.
Examples:
I eat vegetables every day.
I always have breakfast at 7:30.
⬤ Cum vorbim despre mâncare
Folosim „of” pentru a vorbi despre alimentele din recipiente.
Exemple:
o tableta de ciocolată
un kilogram de zahăr
o pungă de cartofi
o sticlă de apă
o cutie de lapte
o cutie de ouă
un borcan de gem
un pachet de unt
un pachet de biscuiti
o conservă de mazăre
NOTĂ: Nu uitați să puneți „s” dacă folosiți cantități la plural!
Exemple:
un kilogram de făină
2 kilograme de făină
o sticla de lapte
3 sticle de lapte
Folosim verbele „a avea” sau „a mânca” pentru a vorbi despre mâncare.
Exemple:
Mănânc legume în fiecare zi.
Eu iau mereu micul dejun la 7:30.
